Kayhan Kalhor to compose score for ‘We Have to’

Iranian maestro Kayhan Kalhor has been set to compose soundtrack for ‘We Have to’.

Internationally known and celebrated Iranian maestro Kayhan Kalhor has been set to compose soundtrack for ‘We Have to’.

The Grammy winning musician will make the soundtrack for ‘We Have to’ to experience his second collaboration with Dormishian after the movie ‘Lantouri’.

Kayhan Kalhor is one of the most prominent contemporary Iranian musicians. He has performed in a plethora of national and international venues and events and has also won various prestigious awards and nominations.

In 2003, he was nominated to receive the Best Traditional World Music Album Grammy award for his Albums ‘The Rain’ and ‘Without You’. Once again, he won nom for the same award and the same event in 2005 for his ‘Faryad’. Upon his third nomination at the event which took place in 2017, he and the Silk Road Ensemble’s album ‘Sing Me Home’ won the Grammy for Best World Music Album.

Kalhor has experienced movie music production with some national and international flickers. He, for instance, was among the musicians who performed for the soundtrack of Francis Ford Coppola’s movie ‘Youth without Youth’.

‘We Have to’ has been said to be filmed in various locations in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

Fatemeh Motamed-Arya, Negar Javaherian, Parsa Pirouzfar, Homayoun Ershadi, Parivash Nazariyeh and Zhaleh Olov are some of the stars that will appear in the film.
